Description
Yeah, this one took me late into the night, but i love it. It kinda reminds me of halo, and i had that in mind when i made it, but as i was making it i thought of my other favourite games the homeworld series, and decided to give it an interesting little storyline.
Storyline
------------------
The Eye of Saar-Goth, is a tale well known to the kiith, it tells of a planet, that formed itself around a natural hyperspace gateway. The gateway formed itself in a dust cloud, and the massive gravitational pulls, drew the dust and charged ions around it, forming a planet. Once the gateway had formed, it opened, and vaporized a hole from the core of the planet outwards, the gateway then lay silent.
As the milennia passed, a alien race evolved on the planet, these aliens were very technologically advanced, even only a thousand years after their discovery of fire, they had already mastered interstellar travel, and had discovered the hyperspace gate in the core of their planet. A ring was erected around the planet, and was used to power the gate. Early tests discovered that probes slingshotted into the gate appeared at their rendevouz points. The aliens instantly took advantage of their discovery and began populating the universe.
Not many years after the first colonies were set up, a catastrophic event occured, somehow wiping out the alien species, and with them removing the location of the Eye of Saar-Goth and its operation.

This is my second digital art, i really need comments on how to improve my technique. I will gladly take ideas for any more artworks.
